I feel like a frumpy fruitcake right now.

School's great. Benny and Ginny both got new funky specs.

Yesh I'm out of my depression mode, and my temperament is much better now. But certain things still cheeses me off. Like this morning's publicity stunt. We've actually booked a Green Link pub-stunt slot yesterday for our launching of Recycling Week, but we got pushed to today instead due to some SAF Book Prize yesterday. And this morning, after we're all ready to go, Ms Sharon Phua happily came and told us there's a last minute commemoration speech for S Rajaratnam who passed away last Thursday, so she thought it wasn't "appropriate to have a pubstunt right after commemoration speech" and delayed us till tomorrow. I mean, circumstances aside, I'm just annoyed at how they dismissed us just like that. POOH.

Oh below are a couple of pictures from friends' blogs:~

My wonderful classmates, in purple! Taken on NJC Road Run, about a week or two ago. From Jin Jen's blog which she took from Annie's.

Yurong and me at ACJC Fun-O-Rama. My hair's wet from the rain and I'm sleepy. From her blog. (DUH!)

Finally got down to visiting Island Creamery yesterday! Haha Yurong and me went down after school; we tried horlicks and reverso flavour, then we ordered a mudpie too. Haha it was kind of like a chocolate overdosage. But it was still nice all the same!

After school today I went straight to town cos I wanted to buy a book at Kinokuniya. Sort of allocated $20 to buy myself a nice novel or something, and I got Julie Orringer's How to Breathe Underwater. I highly suspect it's going to be some girly book. Don't ask me why I still chose to by it. It was a long story.

George Herbert is beginning to influence my life. Okie to be frank I don't really like his poems cos I found them boring and repetitive, but his conceits and his rationalisation of abstract ideas is really powerful. The biblical allusions and underlying Christian faith has also encouraged me loads in my own spiritual walk, even though a lot of times he appears didactic (to me).

Eudora (prata!!) was showing me her Catholic Newsletter, and I came across a quote from the Pope Benedict XVI. "Those who practice charity in the church's name will never seek to impose the church's faith upon others. They realise that a pure and generous love is the best witness to the God in whom we believe and by whom we are driven to love. A Christian knows when to speak of God and when it is better to say nothing and to let love alone speak."

How true.

Monday 27 February 2006

I finally had the courage to visit our favourite bench. Me and Shannon's. Yep I was at Bishan Park again for my Sunday 3km jogs. All this while I never really thought of wanting to visit it, but today was different because this entire week has been an extremely retrospective one for me.

It's still there. Part of the stone trail has been boarded up as NParks is renovating the area into "the first Garden Spa", but the bench is still there. In the same woody material, the funny looking two-whirls on the seat, still with Grandpa Bench.

It was a clear night. I looked up into the sky and saw the 3 stars that formed Orion's Belt. I wish it had been a Monday night; then I could have brought Hai Hao out to stargaze.

All those happy and sad moments spent on our secret special favourite bench. Okay maybe not that secret. And not that special either. But it was our favourite bench. I guess it doesn't take us that long to figure out what meant most to us in our own little hearts.

I should have done this a long time ago. Somehow that short visit made me extremely happy for the rest of the night. Until now. I'm still happy.

Let's hope it's a good week ahead.

Simply astonishing.

Saturday 25 February 2006

Eleanor and me are competing to see who is more depressed and down-in-the-dumps. The weirdly ironic thing is, I'm winning. Let's go spend another 3-hour prayer and counselling marathon, shall we??

I forgot to mention that I went down to SPCA on Wednesday. Wanted to invite them over during my school's Earth Week to provide educational materials, sell their merchandise etc. Met Ms Selina Sebastian and discussed with her our collaboration strategies, then I went back to Catholic High Primary to collect more can tabs from my teacher. And guess what? I've got a teacher in CH Primary names Mr Collin Sebastian who happened to be siblings with Ms Selina S. What a small world.

SPCA visiting and Mount Vernon Road brought back those memories again. I still remember walking by Maris Stella High School and you said you were afraid of snakes, and I walked by that exact area that we tread on 2 years ago.

I should stop being so depressed and not think so much. Should I follow my dreams or be practical?

Common Tests in less than a month. Green Link bogging me down with all loads of events. Ugh. Maybe I should just immerse myself into the mugging and planning of all the events to try and keep my mind free. Trying to have freedom by being busy. How weirdly ironic again.

Thursday 23 February 2006

Again the past few days were as interesting as fleas. Okie fleas are quite interesting cos they suck blood, but still they're pretty insignificant. I'm rather depressed now so whatever that I blog might turn out sickly.

My school's organising an Enrichment Week in March after our Common Tests. Programmes lined up for us include various talks, excursions, exhibitions, video shows, workshops and courses etc. Yesterday we were supposed to go around the school to sign up for the various activities that we want to go for. But apparently some activities are so popular that people filled up all the available vacancies in less than 5 minutes. Well I wanted to go Ubin but it was full, and Pulau Semakau was extremely enticing but it clashes with a compulsory video screening, so what the heck. Here's my timetable:~

Monday 27 March: Theatre - The Importance of Being Kaypoh
Video Show - The Glass Menagerie

Tuesday 28 March: Tour of URA & the Singapore Concept Plans

Wednesday 29 March: Phonaesthetics - Sound & Symbolism in Poetry
Language of Enactment
Language of Meditation
Talks by Local Universities
Talk - Geography Careers

Thursday 30 March: Asian Cultural and Heritage Tour

Friday 31 March: Theatre - Puppets Alive 2!
Chinese Movie Appreciation

Yesh I know it's quite mundane. But I don't really care.

I'm stupidly depressed now. I shall not say much about it, but seriously, this entire thing is getting into my nerves.

Tuesday 21 February 2006

Hmm for the first time this year I had the Monday blues. I don't normally get Monday blues cos my Mondays are mostly pinks and purples, and it's Thursdays that are greys and blues. But seriously, I started out this week quite badly. Last week was so much more hyperactive, maybe because it was Valentines week and Road Run and whatever.

Yesterday after school I went down to Macritchie Reservoir with Atiqah! She had to pass her friend some Malay drama-night tickets, and because I pass by Macritchie everyday on my way home, so I just tagged along. We went to the playground and had a good talk with each other for more than an hour. Sat on the swings, and I'm envious of the fact that she can swing higher than me!! NOT FAIR. After a while both of us got dizzy, so we tried to balance ourselves on the see-saw. And now she's envious of the fact that I can balance better than her. FAIR FAIR!! We met new friends too! There was this group of ITE Clementi students having cross-country there, and we just randomly said hi to them.

It's been a long time since I've sat still and talked seriously to a friend. In fact, it's been a long long time since I was ever serious about my life.

Sometimes I'm really dreary of my own life. I go through my days as if everyday is a big joke to me, and I must laugh at all the funny bits. I don't like to take things seriously. I hate being bounded to anything that I don't like. I try and make my life an exciting one everyday by trying out all kinds of weird stuff. I behave in a silly manner and let people judge whether I'm an attention seeker or I'm insane.

Nobody takes me seriously anyway. And I don't see why anyone should.

Today was the first time in my life when I had more than one friend on the bus 156 from NJ to Junction 8. The very very first time was with Cheryl, then it was with Guan Zhi, then Yurong last month. Most of the time I travel alone on 156. But today I went up the bus with Celine, and Pei Rong was beside me, and Jun Ying was somewhere on the bus too.

That's the only significant thing that I find interesting for today. Yesh it's a boring day.

Saturday 18 February 2006

It's been a very eventful week! Or maybe I could say that it's been a very eventful month so far!! Or maybe I could even say that it's been a very eventful year so far! Haha I sound as if the whole year has been over already. But seriously, I'm amazed at the pace at which things are going. Soon it's going to be A'Levels!! It's already mid-February!! AAAAHHHHHHHHH!!

I completed my National Service registration two days ago. Yup did it online, they asked me loads of details about myself, my family etc. And all of a sudden I just felt very old. I realised that in a few more months I'm going to be in those barracks. Haha yesh it's a reality check for me, and it's not as if I'm afraid of army or whatever, it's just that I've been used to church guys going for NS, and now it's my turn.

And I'm not fit enough yet!! Okie I can do 7 pull-ups, but my standing broad jump is still stuck below 210cm! UGH. On Thursday for PE, Mr Menon got us to trial jump and I did 180cm on my first jump (which was the equivalent of most girls' results), and I did 205cm on my second attempt. Mr Menon said it was a "phenomenal improvement, but aim for infinity and beyond". Gosh at least I improved abot 20cm since last year! YAY! Now for that 230cm mark...

Road Run yesterday. I didn't take it seriously again, and I started walking halfway just because Eric started to walk. Then I basically lost that momentum and walked for most of the way, until the last bend when I sprinted (ironically again with Eric). I heard Mer and Tis cheering "GO AERIUS!! OH OH IT'S GUAN YOU!! GO GUAN YOU!!" Then I heard another dozens of GO GUAN YOU and GO AERIUS before I reached the finishing line. My class girls were great, cos Annie got 20th, Dora got 17th and Shi En got 3rd! Well, us class guys didn't got into top 20 cos we were too slow.

Somehow it felt like Orientation again yesterday. I reached school early in the morning and went to help put up all the purple Aerius house banners. We got the junior classes to paint banners to form a giant banner, so we took up one whole stretch on the opposite end of the track from the grandstand. AMAZING AERIUS! Then Khairi and Tran took out those purple pom-poms and we shook them like hot cheerleaders! Even though our cheering wasn't that outstanding, but still, everyone cheered! Lignum was the best cheering house, and AERIUS CAME IN OVERALL SECOND FOR THE RUNNING POINTS! It was like the first time we did so well for a major event!! It was one of those feelings that totally engulfed me, cos I've been involved in all those house activities right from Orientation and the sense of achievement is definitely there. It's like, getting the Lotus for Green Audit! HAHA!!

Okie everyone's saying this on their blogs, so I must follow suit. I THINK THE A01 FAMILY WERE ABSOLUTELY STUNNING YESTERDAY! Both 05 and 06 were cheering loudly for the house, and it's quite rare to see all of us cheering and having fun on a house level! Yep, and they played the mass dance songs! Me and Huai Ying relived our Orientation mass dancing days! But I realised I keep ending up at the wrong side at all the wrong places.

Went home to bathe and eat after that, then I met Natania, Carmen, Shi Jie, Hanson, Zi Hao, Desmond, Wei Zheng (Rachel) and Jafnie again in the afternoon to catch a movie! Wow okie that's a long list, and they're all from the junior class so I felt kinda "brotherly" over them. Got caught in the rain, met up with Khairi, Atiqah and Beets for a while before they rushed back to school for CCA. Basically the entire town area was filled with NJCians because we ended school at 10am, and since everyone was hanging out there, we even wanted to do the YAH cheer! Haha I met Christine and Ling Hui and both of them were "OKIE!! YAAAHHH!!"

So the nine of us hung around for a while before deciding to watch The Constant Gardener. It was a NC16 show, and believe it or not it was the first time for me to step into a NC16 show! Yesh I know I turned sixteen like more than a year ago, and I'm looking forward to eighteen by the end of this year! So when we first went into theatre there was this sex scene almost immediately, and Carmen was just exclaimed "Are we in the correct movie?" HAHA.

But to me the movie was simply brilliant. Okie be warned, spoilers ahead. I'd rather wish that everyone will go watch the movie yourself, but I think i'm doing it an injustice if I do not at least document down what I feel about the movie.

Basically it's a story about this British diplomat (with a nice-sounding name: Justin Quayle, his wife is Tessa) who marries this outspoken woman and his love for her is built on an wavering trust of whatever that she is doing. However, when his wife was murdered in Nairobi while working on a case of pharmaceutical abuse on those poor Africans, he decides to step out of his comfort zone and embarks on a trail to discover the truth behind his wife's death. Along the way he discovers that his wife's murder was that of an attempt to cover-up whatever his wife has worked out to prevent the news of the atrocities from spreading to the world.

What I really found outstanding about the movie was the way it was directed. The story-telling doesn't flow continuously as there are loads of flashbacks, which cleverly reflects the entire mood of the movie: bits and pieces everywhere to make a whole picture. Justin Quayle's transformation from diplomatic sissy to confident and assertive gentleman is simply amazing to follow. And the various themes are woven into the seamlessly into the movie to preach a point, although I found the pace extremely abrupt and jarring. I know I know the recurrent motifs of "marriage of conveniences" and "this is one child we can help" bit, that was brilliant!!

"No, there are no murders in Africa. Only regrettable deaths. And from those deaths we derive the benefits of civilization, benefits we can afford so easily, because those lives were bought so cheaply." (sounds vaguely like Hotel Rwanda)

Anyway, after the movie ended, I realised that Cheryl, Ginny and Sara were in the same theatre as us! Well okie I heard Ginny's HYAK HYAK laughter in the middle of the movie, then I saw Sara sitting there and I messaged her but she didn't reply, and I only noticed Cheryl because she was so camouflaged that she became part of the furniture. Then we left to go take neoprints, before I had to rush off for worship practice. Desmond's dad gave me a ride from town back to Bishan! Thanks!

It felt funny to sing along with Tammy and Amelia Yeo. Cos I'm in a different group with them and I'm covering for Joel Lee who's absent. I gave a stupid answer yesterday, when Ame asked me "So how was your week?" and I replied "Huh it's cell group time already?" GOSH. The rest of the night was Revelations with Benjamin Wong. And whenever Ben said the Eastern or Western army, I'll turn to Ame (AH-ME) and go "ARMY".

Today was another long day. Woke up early to go nature guiding with Catholic High boys, cos Ms Wong needs us seniors to train the new batch of guides. I caught up again with Yee Kuang, Zhi Yong and Jia Sheng, then met Brandon again! He's in his O'Level year now, and yea time really flies. I still remember cheeky Brandon when I was his Student Leader (equivalent of OGL). So we did a one-to-one training with each guide, I was with this Sec 2 student named Wee Yang. He's engaging! Haha.

I took a ride on Ms Wong's car all the way to Tampines, then I travelled to Pasir Ris cos I needed to borrow a book there, then I went all the way back to Bishan just to deposit my notes before getting straight down to Dhoby Ghaut for a meeting! Yep EnviroFest meeting with Boon Wah and Zhen Rong, and I met my Greenlink exco there too. I had to leave the meeting early cos I was due to go ACJC Fun-O-Rama with church people! Anyway I've left the EnviroFest portfolio for Hui Min already, so I'm just her supervisor now. Haha!

I made it down from Dhoby Ghaut to Buona Vista, took a bus down to ACJC but got down too late cos Yurong told me 2 stops when it was actually 1. So while walking back, I got caught slightly in the rain, then went straight to the canteen to meet the gang! There's Adriel, Jonathan, Shermin, Sarah and Yurong! We bought Ramly burgers to satisfy our hunger and sat at the canteen to people-watch.

I think the entire NJC is down in ACJC also!! I saw loads of NJCians there! There were a lot of them in Orientation shirts or school shirts, and I think I can initiate another YAH cheer and get whacked by the ACJC jocks. Haha!! But seriously, I think NJCians have been flooding town yesterday and now they're flooding ACJC. Met a lot of friends! And I even made new friends! Alicia Ong introduced me to her friends Lydia and Jane, and they keep trying to wave to me or come up to me and "I heard you are the president"... Yar I am. (=

After a while me, Shermin and Yurong went around trying to find games booths to play games, and that was until we saw a stall selling DUCKS! Yay yay!! They had all kinds of ducks, from pink to blue to devil ducks!! And I got one! Then we went to play some fishing game catching real fish, cos me and Yurong has sort of make it a point to play every fishing game at every carnival. HAHA. I caught 5 fishes! Shermin brought it home.

I made a fool out of myself again by asking inconsequential questions again. When I saw Shu Heng at ACJC, I asked her stupidly "Hey! What are you doing here?" Everybody's there for the funfair!! Then later on the bus on with Sarah, Shermin and Yurong, we were on the topic of swim PE in ACJC when I asked stupidly "What do you wear for swim PE??" GOSH! STUPID STUPID QUESTIONS!

Oh I got a duck from the Fun-O-Rama! Oh wait I mentioned that already. Never mind I'm re-emphasising it. Yurong got a teddy bear balloon sculpture but she burst it when she fell down and we all thought that loud pop was the sound of her bone breaking.

And whoever heard of not wanting to go to a school just because they have swim PE???

Wednesday 15 February 2006

It's an extremely extremely extremely good day for me today! YAHOO!! Haha yesh I support Yahoo!! I've got a Yahoo! email account which is still in existence, just that I'm using my Gmail one more often cos I was a Yahoo! to Google convert. Oh today is Total Defence Day too! BUT THAT'S NOT THE POINT. The main message to drive home after typing this blog entry is to inform you that it's an extremely extremely extremely good day for me today!

It started right from the moment I woke up from bed!! Normally first thing in the morning after I wake up is to sit up straight and think about how I can sleep some more. Or if I am awake enough, I might talk to God a bit or hum some song while brushing my teeth. But this morning was great, because I decided to SLIDE off the bed rather than get off it normally. Haha!! So without sitting up, I managed to squirm like some slimy worm off the bed and onto the floor! And I'm absolutely certain my teeth is brighter today.

I slept for 11 hours last night to compensate for my lack of sleep. Quite dumb actually, cos instead of going out for a hot date with some pretty girl, I ended up falling asleep at home right after dinner. And that's why I definitely need a date next year. Wahaa.

On the bus ride to school, Xiu Jing boarded the bus at Macritchie bus-stop! And normally I'm ultra grumpy in the morning, especially on the bus. But I managed to sustain a conversation with her without feeling like I'm a grumpy old bitch.

And all the Chinese High boys alighted at Macritchie bus-stop, so presumably they're having cross-country today. That means there's no traffic jams along Bukit Timah Road! Oh gosh that's a rarity. Therefore, I was first to arrive at the grandstand today! Then all the usual people came, and Cheryl was in bright blue earrings similar to those gems in Bejewelled! Haha it was a Valentines gift from Annie, but too bad Mrs Nair made noise about the earrings and Cheryl had to take them off.

Geography with Ms Ting first thing in the morning, then me, Jaslyn and Samuel had a long free period from 8.50am to 12nn!! Yesh that's the slackiest thing about today. We don't take Economics anymore, and Mr Whitby was on course so it was free too! And I'm very proud of myself, cos I spent that time in the canteen eating and revising Maths!!

After a while I got bored, and the junior class came along to the canteen. And Hanson said hi to me, so I looked at him and a mischievious plan started to formulate! Yep I changed uniforms with him! I was an River Valley boy for an hour, while Hanson was a NJCian for an hour too! Jaslyn changed uniforms with Huai Ying also, and we all became our happy NJCians/RVians. Oh the photos are below, courtesy of Jaslyn!

This is me in River Valley High School's uniform...

...and this is Hanson in National Junior College uniform!

Head to toe... I miss those shorts!

Amy says I'm photogenic because of this picture.

"I'm a mugger RV-ian posted to NJ first three months!!!"

Prophetic communist visions!!

I shall have more respect for RV-ians from now on. Me and Hanson eventually changed back into our respective school uniforms, then it was a Maths tutorial, and it was yet another free period for me cos it's Econs tutorial! What a slacky day. Me and Samuel spent our time in the canteen eating and slacking, and before long it was time for the Total Defence Day concert! Yep we went up to LT5, and us being bored guys we stood at the door of the LT and pretended to hold the door for all those people who were getting out! Actually we were just standing there and waiting for all those slow buggers to clear the way. I had 3 different people saying thank you to me, Sam only had one!! Haha!!

Anyway, the concert was AWESOME! Spell A-W-E-S-O-M-E!! You see, a while ago the school organised a song-writing competition with Total Defence as the theme, and each house is supposed to come out with an entry. Well, 06S19 came up with lyrics for Aerius, but their song had no melody, so I came into the picture and helped them find a fitting tune! And for the concert, they're performing the song to the entire school for judging! They were absolutely great on stage, and the song sounded really really good!!! Okie I'm not saying that just because I did the melody, but it's really really nice. Haha it was kinda weird for me to sit in the audience and sing along!! In fact, they managed to clinch second place for Aerius! WHOO!! I'm so proud of them!! Later on in the concert, the junior class initiated the Aerius house song as a response to Aqua's cheers, of which I composed too. And again I felt an immense sense of pride hearing my own song compositions onstage/offstage!! Tran says I should seriously consider a career in song-writing. Haikel says all my songs are so Guan You-ish. HAHA!!

After the concert ended I was kinda in some state of euphoria, probably from cheering for the house and for everything. Had a Greenlink EXCO meeting for almost 2 hours, and I was seriously groggy after that. I mean, sitting down there and listening is definitely less tiring than leading the meeting. If I do become CEO of some company, I shall keep all my meetings to an hour and below! Then I went down to help with the banner painting for Aerius with my junior class! We're doing a giant banner with the words Purple People Possess Power ~ Amazing Aerius!! Yesh nice use of alliteration and plosives! And I can safely assure you: the smell of paint and turpentine does nothing to relieve a groggy mind.

I left my mark in the college! I drew a pink star on the ground behind the PE offices with a satay stick.

I had to rush down to Jericho after that, but I still had to call Hai Hao to delay tuition by half an hour. Not that he minded anyway, cos we had a mini chit-chat about his family! After doing division with him, he saw a picture in the Science textbook and just asked randomly DO STINGRAYS LAY EGGS OR GIVE BIRTH TO LIVE BABIES. Well I just found out that stingrays are viviparous! That means they give birth to live babies! Thanks Wikipedia!

Oh Jafnie just directed me to the NJC website. Apparently the school's IT personnel has just revamped it! And Cheryl dear, your face is right on the front of the Home page! And my face appears under the "Education and Special Programmes" section! That is sooo not me! WHAT EDUCATION??? Haha but it was last year's photo with Greenlink members, and we were doing an Earth Week pubstunt!

Ken, me, Hui Ling, Zhi Xiu, Peiling and Wei De.

Sigh. The good old days when those seniors were still around (Me and Wei De are the only juniors in the picture). Now I'm left to run the club and Wei De is getting so tall and broodingly handsome.

I feel a great sense of accomplishment today. It's an extremely extremely extremely good day for me today!

Tuesday 14 February 2006

It's Valentines Day today! Hmm I'm kinda sad because NO ONE WANTS TO DATE ME FOR VALENTINES!!! Haha so here I am now, at home after school... Maybe I should just find some random girl who feels as lonely as I am and just go out with her to know her better. Or maybe I shall wait until I'm 40 and proclaim myself an eligible bachelor and wait for all the girls to swoon forward. If not there's still one last maybe... NO NO NO I'M NOT DOING THAT.

Anyway, I'm sleep deprived now. I slept at 5am last night, or rather, this morning, so I only clocked an hour in bed before my mum dragged me up again. The night before I slept at 3am, so I've been surviving on 4 hours of sleep for the past 2 or 3 days. I'm a night-owl. HOOT HOOT. Haha okie, I was up late last night because I was busy doing Maths assignment and preparing Valentines Day gifts! I made small little packages that was filled with tiny glitter hearts, then there was a slightly bigger heart made of wood which I painted red, and there's a note that says "happy valentines! guan you loves you!". Yar it sounds simple, but I have to make like almost a hundred of those packets! The wooden hearts alone took me 2 hours to paint all of them red, cos there were 90 of them and after a while it just became really monotonous. The clock read 3am, but I was still painting my last 5 or so wooden hearts. At 4am I was writing out the notes, and repeating "happy valentines! guan you loves you!" 90 times. At 5am I accidentally spilt the packet of glitter hearts, so I had tiny glitter hearts all over the floor and taking me ages to clean it up.

Naturally, today was a very tiring day for me. The worst thing was Geography test and PE happened to be today also!! I didn't study for the Geog test, cos all I did was flip through RJ Small for 15 minutes before giving up. But the test was still quite okay ( I managed to finish it!!), partly because I did it as though I'm destined to fail, so there were no stress at all. For PE, we did a timed run of 2.4km. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FIND THE ENERGY TO RUN WHEN I ONLY HAD AN HOUR OF SLEEP??? Halfway through the run, I just started walking, and surprisingly enough I still met the passing grade! My timing was 12:50mins, which was the exact time to just pass. Haha yesh I'm much faster than that, but I was really tired today. We had Maths lecture straightaway after PE, but I was too groggy for that so I just skipped it.

Oh, the Valentines Day gifts that I made, I gave them out to all my female friends that I met in school today. With the exception of Khairi cos he's the only guy that I gave one of those packages to. In between lessons when I meet any girl that I know, I'll just holler their names and give them one of those packages. All 90 packages were given out!! And I got loads of gifts in return too! Okie I shall make a really long list of acknowledgements for all the gifts. Haha this makes me feel immensely popular.

First up for the day was Su Kai, who gave me the ducky mug and the test-tube that has NUGGET LOVES OREO in it. Nice nice! Then next up was Sara who did blueberry muffins, and I'm honoured to be the first person to try one! The muffins were good, but it tasted more like banana than blueberry. Haha. Then Jiat Sing gave me a tealight candle holder, and Ginny gave me a funky "The Smiling Earth" notebook and claims that she doesn't just "love me one second before the news of geog test". On the way to morning assembly I saw Qiling, and she gave me a Winnie the Pooh strawberry cup cake. At assembly, I was giving out my packages to all the girls and Rhoda gave me a mini cupcake that she made herself too. Wei Zheng (Rachel) gave me some food wrapped in purple which I haven't opened yet. Amy gave me a Meiji box of chocolates, Chiew Yee gave me chocolates, Jaslyn gave everyone snacks, Sera and Cherrie made muffins too, Ruth made cookies wrapped in red, Siew the siewage gave me some strawberry biscuit, Annie bought for everyone a Giant Stick, whatever biscuit that is, Carmen and Natania the Japanese girl gave me gummy bears, Cheryl did cookies as well... So as you can see, I've got loads of food gifts!! That's not all. Later in the day I met PRETTY Christine who gave me chocolate peanuts and sweets, Alicia gave me this gigantic biscuit she made herself with the words "alicia loves u" on it, Hui Xian gave me sweets, Celine gave me chocolates, Hong Yi gave me chocolates, Shu Qi gave me sweets. And my angel baked cookies for me! My angel gave me the most food, cos in addition to the cookies there were other confectionery too! The only non-food gifts I received were from that chicken nugget, from Jiat Sing, from Ginny and from Evelyn who gave me a pencil with some golden heart on it!! The rest were all food! Oh okie Ms Sim (Maths teacher) gave us each a Toblerone too. And Jafnie gave me the weirdest gift of all: a rose without the stalk. Eleanor gave me a nice CD, which I presume is the most expensive gift that I received for Valentines this year.

Valentines Day is a lovers day!! Since when did it become a food-exchange day??? If you ask me I'd much rather get non-food gifts, even if they are those impractical desk decor gifts. AND WHERE'S MY WALLET?? Oh for your information I'm carrying around a Hello Kitty tin can as my wallet now, cos I didn't get any new wallets for Christmas and my sis gave me that tin can, so I thought it'll be funky to store my cash and cards in it! BUT STILL I WANT A WALLET WALLET WALLET WALLET!!

Somehow Valentines Day doesn't really apply to you unless you've got a date with someone. But I think it's quite fun to prepare gifts for everyone, and receiving gifts in exchange. Meeting friends that you know and saying a simple happy valentines to them, regardless of whether they've got a date or not. Blooiee it feels like Christmas. Eh I said MERRY CHRISTMAS instead of HAPPY VALENTINES to Christine. Haha.

Oh the Student Council set up a song dedication booth in the canteen, so there's amplifiers in the canteen that blasts out music just as long as you request for a dedication, at $1 per song dedication. I think it's a good way to earn money! Yesterday me, Atiqah and Beets dedicated a song for Kai Jie and we pretended to be his secret admirer!! Gosh that look of disbelief on his face was priceless. And me, Ruth and Rhoda dedicated a song for our junior class, and when they heard it they were cheering!

And today I was in the canteen with Jaslyn as usual. The two of us are seeing each other all the time, not just in all our classes but outside class too, cos our timetables are exactly similar right down to the our tutorial groups. She was lamenting about no one dedicating a song for her, and as I was walking by the Council booth I was like HMM WHY NOT?? So I dedicated a song for her, addressed to my pseudo eyecandy. And when she heard it, she was absolutely stunned and started going into fits and spasms cos she was so happy!! Haha the term "making someone's day" takes on new meanings for us.

After that our class had loads of fun with the songs dedication! Jaslyn and Annie went to dedicate more songs for the class, and when Usher's "Caught Up" was playing we went nuts and started chanting CAUGHT UP at the various junctions of the song. Janvin secretly went to dedicate a song too! I think the Council is just milking our money to the fullest. BLOOIEE.

I must find a date for Valentines next year.

Monday 13 February 2006

I just finished watching Whale Rider on Arts Central. The story is about this traditional Maori village in New Zealand where the chief's firstborn son will inherit the chief status. But the tradition was broken when the chief's eldest son had only a daughter from a difficult birth that took the mother's life and the twin brother's life too. So the eldest son ran off to the city to become some artist, while the girl was raised by her grandparents (which is the chief). And naturally the chief does not recognise the girl's right to be the heir as it has always been the males who become chiefs. From here on enters your typical women rights struggle, where the girl secretly learns the traits of becoming a chief while the stubborn chief refuses to acknowledge her talents and even tried to source for alternative heirs within the village.

So eventually the whales stepped in. Literally. The village believes that the whales are the sacred gods of the village, and the chief shares a special relationship with the whales. The whales beached themselves on the shores of the village, and it's only at that point of time that the chief realises that his heir has been the girl all along.

I found the screenplay and story-telling approach was rather direct to the point, but it is the same simplicity that blew me off. No wonder this was a international critically acclaimed movie... I mean, the female-versus-tradition theme is not new, and you could almost predict the sequence of events happening. But the distinctive bit was that the girl was not trying to become the chief; she just wanted to be recognised as her grandpa's grandchild. And that came from a determination and strong spirit that never quavered.

The scenery was amazing, I must say.

How many times in my own life must I listen to that risk-avoidant voice within me?? Too often I am exactly like the chief that is bounded by tradition and a mark of pride that forever declares that MY WAY IS RIGHT. Despite the many signs out there, I still fail to acknowledge GOD'S WAY IS BETTER. And it always has to degenerate to a point where some kind of miracle must happen to convince me to turn to Him and seek His ways. Ugh. Stepping out of your comfort zones is a difficult thing to do.

Right now I'm sort of waiting for that magical miracle to convince me. But that would be like the ultimate straw that God will throw down and shout "Here it is!! Go ahead you irritating paranoid bugger!!" Maybe I should just step out in faith and trust that things will turn out right.

And that recurrent "smoking is bad for your health" message, yes I agree with it, but can someone tell me what is the significance of including it in all the 3 or 4 occasions?

Okie I think too much. I think practical criticism is growing into my life. (And Ms Serene Seah goes "PRAC CRIT IS FUN RIGHT??")

Friday 10 February 2006

Hmm, it's Friday again, and it's the end of the week. I don't know, but for one reason or another, I really don't wish for this week to end. IT'S BEEN A GREAT WEEK!!

Do you sometimes get the feeling as if something is very very far away when you're actually very near it?

Anyway, this week has been quite physically tiring too. For both of our PE sessions, we ran the entire Road Run route!! That works out to about 6~7km for the week. Not to mention I did another 2.4km run on Wednesday, so I've been clocking almost 10km for this week!!

O'Level results came out today. If you ask me, I seriously can't remember much when I took my results last year. All I can recall was Mr David Chen picking out all those guys with weird, dyed hair and making them stand at the back. And whatever happened next was a big blur, cos I only remembered hearing Mrs Pang say "Well done Guan You, you got 10", then Daniel Basuki was like WAAAHHLAAAOOO!!!! Haha. Then when Luke got 9, it was my turn to WAAAHHLAAAOOO.

It's kinda bad today. I've got 2 juniors (friends) who started crying even before the results were officially out. Okie I shall not name them on accounts of anonymity, but when I called them (separately) both of them started crying, blabbering about being very stressed or afraid of undesirable results. And when the results were released at 2.30pm, both of them called me back and one had 7, the other had 8. OH THE IRONY OF IT. But most of my juniors (friends) did well enough to either stay in NJ or go to their schools of their choice.

I'm extremely afraid of girls who cry over the phone. If they're crying in front of me it's still okay, cos at least I know what to say or whatever, but if it's over the phone, it just isn't the same.

And for those who didn't get satisfactory results, DON'T BROOD OVER IT. It's only O's, and I believe there's much more beyond just a mere number.

Was staying back in school to do my GP assignment, which was to do an AQ (Application Question) on human rights. I'm just highly attracted to the fact that individuals are bounded to something else that is of a greater entity... Then I used the Vietnamese-Australian guy (Nguyen Tuong Van... Sara provided me with that name) who got the death sentence for smuggling heroin into Singapore as an example. And me and Sara just started discussing about the death sentence. I'm strongly against the death sentence, but if that guy murdered someone else then he deserves it, but I think smuggling drugs should not warrant a death sentence. Then I was relating back to the extract on A Hanging by George Orwell which we did for Practical Criticism with Mr Whitby. That just totally touched my life.

Wednesday 8 February 2006

My muscles are aching slightly from PE yesterday. We tried out the NJ Road Run route, and since I'm quite familiar with the route as I ran it last year, I thought it was going to be easy-peasy!! I didn't bother to stretch properly before the run, and during the run it was quite fun cos we were running and talking at the same time. Even though it was about 4km I ran as if it were 2km! So this morning I woke up with aching thighs and I was wondering how in the world did I get aching muscles when I felt so relaxed during the run???

But aching muscles ain't going to stop me! I was absolutely delirious in school for the whole day. I said hello to a stranger while on the bus to school! I was carrying along a cake you see, cos we're celebrating Dora's and Shi En's birthdays today (Dora's on 6th Feb while Shi En's on 11th Feb). I've never seen the guy in my whole life before but I just felt like saying hello to him!

And I reached school at 7am. WHY THE HELL AM I SO EARLY?? Dang I should have slept more. Anyway, I saw Seet and Yuliang at the grandstand and I joined them for a while. They're complaining that I keep ignoring them and trying to avoid them, so after I deposited the cake with the drinks stall uncle, I went back to join them just to prove that I'm not ignoring them! Ah ha!! And partly because they were threatening to burn down my house tonight, but they're not here yet.

I want to learn the IJSN's integration and differention songs!!!

Morning assembly was funky! I was playing scissors paper stone with my imaginery friend!! And I sang the college anthem in some weird tone.

I took out quite a lot of knowledge after attending Ms Ting's Geography tutorial. Normally I just sit through her lesson for the sake of sitting through it, but today she was showing us a case study of river management and the environmental issues concerning it, which I thought was quite a fruitful lesson!

I discovered a newfound liking for mango juice! Was at the drinks stall and I ordered MILO, but the uncle heard it wrongly and gave me MANGO juice! I didn't want to make things difficult so I just tried it and IT TASTED REALLY NICE.

Oh yea I got letters from both my angel and my mortal today! And yesh my angel reads my blog, so she'll be reading this entry!!! HARLOW ANGEL! It's kinda freaky knowing that you've got someone who knows what's going on in your life, but you don't know who that person is. HEY ANGEL I THINK YOU'RE A NICE ANGEL. ESSAY-WRITING ANGEL!!

Mr Whitby did with us a poem titled "Lights Out" by Edward Thomas. It was supposed to be quite a brilliant poem, cos the allegorical qualities of interweave the themes of sleep and death seamlessly. But I thought it was rather boring and dull and miserable, and everyone around me were engaged in the criticism of the poem but I was like, CAN WE GET THIS OVER AND DONE WITH?? And Whitby calls me "that Jesus guy".

Khairi you've got HOT BUNS!

Celebrated Dora's and Shi En's birthday during Contact period. I WANT A CAKE FOR MY BIRTHDAY TOO!!! Haha I'm the unofficial "cake rep" for the class and I've been buying cakes for my classmates for one whole year last year, but I didn't get my cake from the class!!! AAAHHH!! I QUIT! Okie I shall not be so impulsive. Maybe I'll get a gigantic cake on my birthday this year (it's 21st Nov by the way)!! *looks hopeful*

CAAL period was dumb. Me and Janvin went to the Greenlink spice garden in the middle of the talks to pay it a visit. Then after school, I went over that canal to Hwa Chong Institution to sight-see... Natania and Carmen were already there with their friend Yao Guang? I think that's his name. Jafnie was trying desperately to drag me along to HCI with him cos he wants to take pictures with the Tan Kah Kee statue!! GOSH what kind of reason was that??

So me, Jaslyn and Jafnie went there together, bought ice cream at the bus stop before we went in to satisfy our weird cravings, and we took our pictures with the tall Tan Kah Kee statue! Somehow the HCI field looks bigger. And the field was made of carpet grass, and because it looked so lush and green the students aren't allowed on the field and even the 2 trackers running in the field had to take off their shoes just to run.

Natania sounds like a Japanese name, don't it???

Tan Kah Kee was holding a walking cane! We found a bamboo stick and we pretended to be Tan Kah Kee, in the same pose, under his statue. And took pictures. WAHAA. We acted as if we were tourists after that! There's this weird sign that says Troops Marching Ahead and Jaslyn stood under it, in marching pose and took pictures. Then there was this big red sculpture with loads of mouths and lips in kissing positions, so us despo kids desperate for a kiss tried to kiss the statue and took more pictures.

Then Nat and Carmen's friend Seewah brought us around the school! She said there's a Zen Garden in the school and I was naturally excited cos I want to see HCI's greeneries! But the Zen Garden turned out to be some open area with stylish pebbles and a nice circular podium. There's not even a single plant, unless you count those 3 or 4 palms along the road. OH HOW NICE A GARDEN.

I saw Adam Kuang! He hasn't changed at all, still his same old self. Then we went to the canteen and they had this really cool ice cream vending machine!! Me and Jafnie were soo curious that we decided to try it, but we had ice cream before we came in so we treated Nat to ice cream! The machine was COOL! It's got some suction thing and the ice cream is sucked from the icebox, and somewhat like those cheat-your-money "pick up a toy with your metal claws for only $10" machines. And I was so dumb I pressed on the label of the ice cream, expecting the machine to work, but you had to press the position code of the ice cream! BLOOIEE.

And HCI has got this cool-looking board that was supposed to be a suggestions board, and you can just put on a post-it on the board. So Jaslyn wrote "Haiya go over to NJC lah" and posted it there. HAHAHA!!

We saw Liyong! Yep he's a NJCian and he's my year too, apparently there was a Nobel Laureate talk, so there were representatives from most of the other colleges in Singapore. We saw one NJCian girl and me and Jaslyn tried to call out to her even though we didn't know her, so I just went "NJC! We do our best we always will to serve to strive........." but she didn't turn around. UGH. Haha but we did sing the college anthem and school song in HCI though.

Dispersal time! Jaslyn went off to Queensway, while me, Jafnie, Nat and Carmen were walking back towards NJ to get Jafnie's bag. We saw a surveillance camera and I had this crazy thought to run into it and start doing the YAH cheer in front of the camera! But Nat and Carmen backed out on us.

I took bus 156 all the way to Bishan MRT with Jafnie cos he wanted to go to the MOE Language Centre to crash the German classes. While I shopped arond for Valentine's Day presents for people at J8. Then I went to Jericho to teach Hai Hao tuition! YAY today is a much much better day cos he was soo much more interested.

But the sickening thing was, he's learning animal and plant cells in school for Science now!! GOSH I NEVER KNEW THOSE STUFF cos I didn't take Biology in my whole life before! So I was trying to make up some story about a weird organism called paramecium, talking rot about the cell structure and whatever. I had to refer to a secondary one level textbook! Does anyone know how do a human sweat???

OH OH I've got new eyecandies already! My pseudo eyecandy is Jaslyn, whom I see everyday and in every class of mine. Then Elaine's my half eyecandy, cos I think she's got supermodel looks and she's sooo tall. And Christine will make up the other half!! Yup Christine says she thinks I'm good-looking (like, DUH!!!), and I think she's very pretty, so we're both each other's half eyecandies! Haha my angel was right, if someone treats me as their eyecandy, I probably won't know unless they tell me! So maybe I should start walking around as if I'm extremely hot and sexy.

Monday 6 February 2006

Today will be what I would classify to be a VERY VERY GOOD DAY! Okay not so much of the things that happened, and not so much for the words and actions that I said. I think that's all secondary. What matters most is I feel HAPPY. Hee hee!

Yep I saw rainbows in the sky this morning!! It's been ages since I last saw one... And yesh yesh there were rainbows in the sky! PLURAL. I walked in to school this morning with Joel Chan, then I went straight to the side of the grandstand where all the old A01-ians will gather every morning. I was earliest there, but I didn't notice the rainbows until Sara came and she tried to act cool by not saying anything to me, but the moment she saw the rainbow she was like "OH OH OH!!" And right from where we were seated, we could see two distinct rainbows, but the clouds came and blocked the sunlight so they disappeared. But as all of us were walking towards the parade square, the rainbow was still visible in the sky, extending in a huge arch over the entire NJ compound. I started walking backwards to take pictures of the rainbow with my phone, and Wei Zheng (who was passing by) asked me goofishly what I was doing and when I pointed the rainbow to her she started going "OH OH OH!!" as well...

Morning assembly was in the hall today, due to the wet weather. I shall be like Christine and dislike having assemblies in the hall. It's always crammed and you can't see the house flags and the junior class is not standing next to you. BLAH.

OH YAR. I saw my Hwa Chong eyecandy while on the bus ride to school this morning! Eh yup I've got 2 eyecandies, one is Hwa Chong eyecandy and another is from NJ (come and ask me if you really want to know). But the thing was, I was over the eyecandies euphoria since last year June, so technically I'm without an eyecandy now and those two are my ex-eyecandies. Haha but still it was exciting to catch sight of them, cos both my eyecandies are elusive!! I was sooo excited that I messaged Atiqah!! I miss those days when me and her would go eyecandy hunting/stalking, and she's got four-and-a-half eyecandies in NJ alone!

I told Jaslyn that I need a new eyecandy, to somewhat motivate me into looking forward to coming to school. And she gladly offered to be my eyecandy cos we both have the exact same subject combination in the class, and the only other person who matches our subjects is Samuel, but even he has got Chinese lessons, so it's only the two of us. And we're in the same GP and maths tutorial group too! So now I can boast that I can see my eyecandy in school everyday, and same class too!!!

After school I actually planned to go town to get Valentines Day presents for people, but ended up talking to Jas about Christian issues, then Woman #1 and Woman #2 came along and we talked too. And some other people joined in and we just sat at the canteen chit-chatting...

...until Siew Peng came along, so I got onto 852 for a long ride to Yishun. I decided that town was too far away and I shall just go to Northpoint and see what I can get there. And guess what? Elaine, my too-tall dance partner from orientation was with her friend, and Siew was on my right side while Elaine was on my left. So it became kinda weird after a while, especially after Elaine's friend got off. And Siew was trying to egg me to talk to her and it was just weird. W-E-I-R-D. Then Siew reached her house and she got off, and I walked Elaine half the distance to her home. Hee hee!

And there's nothing at Northpoint!! Except Popular bookstore. I just felt very dumb walking around aimlessly, so I went on the MRT to town and bought arty-farty crafts from Kinokuniya and the art and craft shops on the level above it. Then I had to rush back to Bishan cos tonight was tuition night.

Hai Hao wasn't very cooperative tonight. It's like the third week that I'm teaching him, and so far he was great, but for tonight he was just not in the mood and even though he did most of the work, he's still so listless and angsty-looking. I think growing boys are moody kids too.

Anyway this marks an end to my VERY VERY HAPPY DAY. Maybe tomorrow will be even better...

Saturday 4 February 2006

Today was quite a long day. Okay here's my "events and occurences" time-table of everything that happened today. The times are quite accurate cos I checked my phone a lot today.

1627: Entered Expo Hall 8 into City Harvest Church's service.
1640: Found 2 seats courtesy of an usher.
1700: Delirious? came on stage and led worship!
1945: Service ended.
2003: Went home from Expo MRT.
2113: Reached home.

Yup as you can see I went Ubin today. Greenlink orientation outing for the J1s. It was good! I finally saw a Oriental Pied Hornbill, and it was ME who spotted it first! Haha! 2 people from my junior class, 3 from my OG. Whee... Then I took the MRT with those three from my OG cos I had 3 hours to burn, and I basically travelled from Tanah Merah to Chinese Garden, then back from Chinese Garden to Expo, so it was East to West and back East again. Time for some Physics: my distance covered is 41 stations in total, but my displacement is only one MRT stop! And I tried getting out at the gate gantry but there was an overstay on my records, so I had to approach the SMRT personnel and this guy was checking my ez-link card, and he said rather sarcastically "Wah you took more than two hours to travel just from Tanah Merah??" And I was like yar I fell asleep in the wrong direction, and he rolled his eyes at me. HAHA. Yep I had $2 deducted from my credits.

Then me and Yurong went for City Harvest Church's service today, cos Delirious? was there to lead worship! We met Rudy, and I didn't know he was worshipping at CHC. Anyway, the Expo hall that CHC was given was humungous. Seats 7000. When the worship started, Martin Smith did that candle thingy and sang "there is a light......" like what he did for last year's Festival of Praise, and loads of other songs. Their music and worship was really good! But yesh it was still like more of a concert than a praise/worship time to me. They've got a couple of new songs that was so rock-ish that me and Yurong just stood there and clap according to the beat.

The sermon was quite inspiring too! Extract from Ruth, one of my favourite women in the Bible. Their tithing message was a bit new to me cos I've never had that in my entire life, unless you count those "object lessons" in Sunday school. And they did the church announcements into some kind of advertisement! It was impressive (to me) cos I'm so used to Matthew/Uncle Bee giving announcements in bulletin form, and now you've got different people promoting different functions, Channel News Asia style. I told Yurong that Della should do something like that.

And it was a bit brainwashy? Haha the constant references to CHC and belonging in that church was kinda getting on my nerves. Or then again, maybe it's just me again cos we don't have that in Salvation Army. Maybe that's why the sense of belonging isn't there... But I love the Salvation Army family! Maybe it's again down to your perspective, of how you view the church and whether you choose to participate actively in it and whether you want to be serving the Lord by belonging to the church.

But yep, it was a good experience. Too bad Siew goes for the Sunday service, if not I might have met her. And it was both me and Yurong's first time into City Harvest's service. And the last time was FCBC's, so we've both had a miniature experience of what's it like in those charismatic churches. Martin Smith is cute, and he has an awesome voice.

Oh I forgot to mention, this morning while on the way to Tanah Merah MRT, this girl came up to me!! Our conversation as shown below~

Girl: Hey I think you are really hot.
Me: Erm, huh are you sure?
Girl: Haha no this is just a dare.
Me: Oh I thought so.
Girl: Can I have your number? Please?
Me: Yar sure go ahead.
*keys in number in her phone*
Girl: Thanks!

Hee hee! That's so totally weird! I was sitting down in one of those two-seater seats on the MRT at the very side of the carriage, and the girl actually came all the way from the adjacent carriage and sat beside me to talk to me. Could see like 3 or 4 of her female friends trying to peek at us. I don't think she saved my number, cos she didn't even ask for my name. Pity, cos I thought she was quite pretty. WHY COULDN'T MORE GIRLS JUST THROW THEMSELVES ONTO ME LIKE THAT?? I think all girls should make the move first to acknowledge that they're attracted to someone. I mean, it's already the guys that are marriage-proposing for first, so the least the girls could do is to admit first that they like the guy! And I would like to have more girls just talking to me randomly. Hee hee! Shannon did that didn't she? This girl did that too (although forcefully). Yurong reckoned that I should have replied something like, "yar, I'm so hot I'm sizzling", but I didn't.

And suddenly everyone's talking about their eyecandies! HMMM why doesn't anyone say that I am their eyecandy?? WHY WHY WHY??

Quick!! Make me feel popular and sexy and hot and cool and handsome.

Friday 3 February 2006

Blah I'm chalking up a heavy sleep debt. But strangely enough I don't feel very tired or sleepy. Okie here's the breakdown of my sleeping habits for the past 3 or 4 days.

Tuesday-Wednesday: Slept from 4am to 6am, sleeping hours=2
Wednesday-Thursday: Slept from 9pm to 7am, sleeping hours=10
Thursday-Friday: Slept from 4am to 6am, sleeping hours=2

So in total, I've been surviving on a highly irregular, sleep-deficient week in school. But yep I don't feel extremely tired although everyone says I look like some brainwashed kid.

Greenlink pubstunt was finally on today! It was a great job, considering we took only one day to rehearse everything. So far I've done 2 pubstunts in total for Greenlink, and all of them have been a great success! Haha I was producer and director and co-scriptwriter for this pubstunt, and I had my glorious moment as a voiceover for Kevin the can-man. And all my friends recognised my voice as the "weird sound that suddenly came through after the silence"!! Gosh so now I have a weird voice. BLOOIEE.

I had a mini-outing with Atiqah yesterday, to rekindle our shopping-crazy days. Haha we just went to Coronation Plaza to get party poppers for my pubstunt, then we went back to visit that expensive stamps/chops shop. Yesh it still exists, one year since we last visited it.

Geography project presentation was smoother than I thought it'll be. Ms Ting was quite satisfied with whatever that we displayed to her, and even though mine was the shortest among us 3, she praised me the most. HAHA there is really something fishy about this, cos it was extremely surprising that she didn't criticise our presentation at all.

Actually planned to meet Chris Ngoh after school today for a catch-up-with-each-other session, but it got cancelled at the last minute. Then was thinking of going to Pioneer JC for their open house, cos Yurong (THERE I MENTIONED YOU!) is there. But didn't either.

Had a long chit-chat session with many many people today. Yup I shall list down all the people to make myself seem popular! After school I bummed around with Amy and Jaslyn and Chiew Yee and Cindy and Mavis and Nani, then I went to buy yong tau foo with Rhoda and sat with Shermin, Judith, Benny, Jeff, Karen and Sara to eat, then had a rubbishy chat with Hanson and Shi Jie and Hui Xian and Hanqiang and Debbie. After they left for their lessons, Carmen, Natania and Wei Zheng came over for more rubbishy chats, then was hovering with Cheryl and Sara who were singing their integration and differentiation songs, then Huai Ying and Regina came along and I called them Women #1 and #2. And Bernice became Barney!! Then I was providing inspiration for Sara for her maths, and we walked out together to the bus-stop and to home.

There you go. I'm extremely popular.
